Misceláneo

Yesterday was a full day -- two lectures, lunch in town whose name I've already forgotten, a visit to a home for boys, a long bus ride to Mexico City and dinner at Chili's. Things are happening too quickly for me to keep the blog properly updated, but I am going to post a few random pictures from the trip so far.

First, a group photo:
Fellow Fulbrighter Shirley standing in front of the remains of a pre-hispanic religious building. Behind it you see the Catholic church and beyond that a steep hill, atop of which was another, more popular worship site for the indeginous people. I think this was in Teotitlan.
Ancient tombs. This was a very beautiful location, but the mosquitos were horrible and it was raining, so I rushed back to the bus.
Chachalacas Beach, site of some stunning sand dunes and the sand-flea massacre:
High school students about to sing "Hotel California" for us:
Veracruz:
Cortez's home:
The first church in Mexico:

Just caught up on the last week, beautiful pictures again, and wonderful commentary. You are turning into quite the blogger. I may have to give you some pointers though...if I knew anything about blogging. I look forward to seeing how this trip progesses and your post trip reactions. One question though, sand flea massacre? Exaggerate much?
